Where the mind leads, the body follows...

Today, my babies' daddy ran the Ealing Half Marathon! That's no mean feat!!! At 32 weeks pregnant, I can barely run a bath! He has been training with such dedication for the past, I don't know how many months... gradually upping his mileage as the big day grew closer. He's been mindfully eating right, drinking right, resting right - and thinking right. You see, training for something as exerting as a half marathon, is as much about the mental preparation as it is the physical. 13.1 miles is a heck of a long way to run, especially in hilly Ealing (who knew!) and in today's heat (seriously, who would have expected a heat wave at the end of September?!) it can't have been easy. You can't enter into these things blindly. It takes time and practice. You have to put in the work to achieve the best results. He completed it in 1 hour 48 by the way - pretty good going I think you'll agree. We cheered him on part way round the course and then made our way to the park for the last push before he crossed the finish line. He was looking strong, physically, but I could see in his face that he was feeling it... I'm pretty sure seeing the sign that read: "Just one more lap of the park to go!" couldn't have helped him out much! I mean - come on... couldn't they have just said: "Awesome job! You're almost there!" It wasn't until later, that he admitted that yes, that sign had thrown him slightly, he was knackered, the last thing he needed to do was 'just one more' bloody lap!!! But then he saw me and Johan whooping and cheering from the sideline and his mindset changed in an instant. He thought: "If she can give birth, I can finish this race!" and he ran and he ran and he completed that lap and he finished the race! Where the mind leads, the body follows! Never a truer word spoken - and this is as true in sports psychology as it is in birth psychology. In Hypnobirthing, as in the sporting world, we use positive statements, or affirmations as they are often referred to, along with powerful visualisations, as part of our regular training routine. Affirmations are a really powerful training tool. Written and spoken as if they are already true, they work, in this instance, by flooding our subconscious mind with positive and empowering statements about pregnancy, labour and birth. They are very simple, yet incredibly powerful and will empower you to give birth to your baby with confidence. Are you ready to re-frame your thinking - about pregnancy, labour and birth - and get to work?! Because in all honesty, that's the key to Hypnobirthing: if you create the right mindset and put in the work - you WILL get the results.

I am 100% dedicated to helping pregnant women, just like you, to overcome your fears and anxieties around giving birth. I will educate and empower you to have a SAFE, CALM, RELAXED and POSITIVE birthing experience - which is right for YOU and YOUR baby. This is so important to me, because you need to know that birth doesn't have to be like all the horror stories you've heard.
